The first woman to play in a men's professional tournament in Great Britain. She played in the 1933 Yorkshire Evening News Tournament at Temple Newsam. For the next 5 years she played in a variety of tournaments, but giving lessons, designing golf clothing and giving advice in her Golf Monthly column were her main source of income. An article in "Through the Green" by Peter Lewis, September 2009 gives a full account of her life and achievements.
